GLOBETRAVELLER (GTR) [PAST COLLECTION 2004]
Built for extreme conditions, ready for any situation: the GlobeTraveller. Probably the original touring bike design. Extremely tough, thanks to the high-spec 7005 aluminium frame with triple-butted and triple-hardened tubing and extra-stiff rear end. Utterly reliable, and completed with a well-balanced selection of components. For example strong, double-eyeletted rims – drilled 36 hole front, 40-hole rear – and Schwalbe anti-puncture tyres, and a Shimano XT groupset. Ergonomic 'butterfly' handlebars with adjustable stem, both from ITM, contribute directly to the pleasant and efficient seating position. And on top of that there's a shock-absorbing seatpost from Airwings for comfort even if the road surface turns out to be less than well-maintained. The GlobeTraveller is a bike that's used all over the world. But this bike is also exceptionally well-suited for a quick day-trip, or for a cycling week in the Dordogne, say. The Dark Titanium brushed paintwork reflects the distinguished personality of this top touring bike.
