friday 19 August 2005 KOGA-MIYATA’S BIKE TRAILER CHELA A DISTINGUISHED CONCEPT
On last year’s Eurobike dutch manufacturer Koga B.V. surpied the cycling world presenting a prototype bike trailer named Chela (meaning ‘disciple’ in Tibethan). This week the jury of the new Eurobike Award has announced that the Chela is nimnated out of 50 nominiees to receive the golden or silver Award 2005. This award, now already being regarded prestigious, will be handed over the day before the start of the Eurobike, during a brief ceremony.

The new monowheel luggage trailer differs from conventional designs by its numerous built-in features to raise the comfort level, such as an integrated folding chair and table, a telescopic stand (to be used for camera, lamp, safety flag etc.) and a daypack with solar cells to charge a GPS or mobile phone. Travel kit can be stored in separate integrated compartments. The alloy chassis has suspension and offers very smooth riding characteristics. Nevertheless, the empty weight only brings 12.6 kg on the scales. With only minor adaptations, the Chela can be converted into an easily manoeuvrable luggage trolly, for use in public transport.

By coincidence, the presentation of the -golden or silver- Award for the Chela also marks its international market introduction. From September on, the Chela will be available at all Selected Koga Dealers for a realistic sales price of € 799,00.
